City of Lakewood public hearing regarding fireworks

At its June 1 meeting the Lakewood City Council will hold a public hearing on a proposal to restrict fireworks in the city. Under the proposal fireworks would be allowed only on July 4 between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. and New Year’s Eve.
Under city code fireworks are currently allowed July 3-5 between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. and New Year’s Eve.
The City Council wants to hear from residents about the proposed change. All comments will be reviewed by council members.
